Four men and a woman, of Spanish, Colombia, Argentina and Ukraine nationality, one of them a minor, were arrested for a brawl in the port of Alicante where three other people were almost killed.
According to the National Police, the incident occurred during the early hours of Aug. 19 on Paseo de Gomis, by the Postiguet beach, although the arrests took place last Wednesday.
There was an argument between two groups formed of five and three people, and at one point the first group left to seize weapons to return minutes later and attack the other three. To do this, they used a large weapon, pepper spray, a kickstand and bottles, with which they attacked the other three, one of whom had to be taken to the General Hospital of Alicante for emergency surgery.
Although the suspects managed to flee, the Violent Crime Group of the Provincial Brigade of Judicial Police of Alicante began an investigation that has borne fruit with the location and arrest of the five suspects, charged with three crimes of attempted murder.
