Rescuers from the Provincial Fire Consortium have rescued a 46-year-old British man and his son, aged 13, who had become trapped in an area of ​​sea cliffs near the rising tide and waves.

The emergency services received notice at 16:00 alerting them that the man and boy had become stranded in a steep and rocky area of the beach.

Rescuers were dispatched from Torrevieja fire station and a helicopter was called to assist.

Ground troops rescued the pair, in good health, without the need of the helicopter.
