Mónica Lorente

The former mayor of Orihuela, Mónica Lorente, has announced on Monday that she is to “temporarily” resign her position on the Ciclo Hídrico, pending her May hearing in which she faces corruption charges.

Lorente is facing charges of forging public documents after the award for work on the Plaza El Escorratel was given to a company before the public tender process was complete.

The Ciclo Hídrico is an official Alicante based group concerned with analyzing provincial water resources, providing technical advice to local authorities and recommends annual improvements and maintenance of the water infrastructure.
