The Los Verdes green party of Torrevieja has filed a notion for consideration, debate and adoption in the plenary sessions of the town hall, after consulting with the Information Commission, in which they are calling for the creation of recreational parks, designed especially for pets.
This initiative could be an alternative to the previous request made by the greens in which they proposed that there should be space created in certain municipal parks for pets to enjoy a trip out, preventing them from invading other public spaces and the possible inconvenience to other users.
After not having any response from the Partido Popular government team to the initial proposal, the Greens believe that the city hall should give a solution to the thousands of people who have pets in the town and have nowhere to take their animals, which has prompted this extension of the proposal.
Although not likely to listen to the request or the needs of the supporters any time soon, it is hoped that the government team might be prompted to look at many other municipalities that have done work in attempting to solve this old complaint of many pet owners who sought to have adequate and well-bounded spaces for use, such as in Elche, where there are two perfectly delimited and demarcated areas, one exclusively for pets, fenced and gated, with fountains and other services for pets, as well as one for children, also fenced and with its own access, playgrounds and shaded areas.
The Greens hope to have the support of other political groups that make up the Municipal Corporation to make this initiative succeed, providing solutions to the just demands of many pet owners, who are requesting recognition of their needs.
